This is a program designed to support new and "newish" Canadian Mental Health Professionals who are regulated or on their way to obtaining their professional designation or licensing and who want to become more confident in their session note writing skills!
In this program, you will explore the mindset blocks and fears that prevent you from completing your session notes, understand the values that drive you as a therapist and use that to inform your customized session note template as well as develop the habits and skills that will help you become a confident therapist. But you won't have to do it alone, this program not only teaches you the "what" and the "why" but the "how" and you will be supported, guided and encouraged every step along the way by ME and other therapists just like you.
If you are curious about if this program is the right fit for you, I'd love to connect with you and tell you more!
Click on the "I'm Interested and want to know more" button below and sign up and I'll be in touch soon!
If you already know this program is for you, go ahead and enroll in the program and I'll see you on the other side!
My Best,
An introduction to the platforms that will be used to deliver the program, get feedback, create accountability and build community. .
In this section you will understand the factors or the “passengers” that contribute to decreased confidence when writing notes. In particular, we will gain a deeper understanding about how imposter syndrome affects our confidence.
We will then identify 2 main passenger types:
- The Competence Imposter Type and
- The Fear Imposter Type
We will then learn strategies on how to quieten their voices as we become more confident therapists.
This section will help you recognize the value of clarifying and using a theoretical framework to increase your confidence in writing session notes.
I will help you identify our theoretical framework by increasing your awareness of your core values and worldview, identifying your predominant counselling paradigm and primary theories and therapeutic modalities.
These lessons will help you create your personalized GPS, a tool that will be invaluable to you when you feel lost writing session notes but also in clinical practice.
The last section of our program will support you to create your customized session note template based on your clarified theoretical framework.
The lessons in this section will give you a chance to use a simple acronym GAS, because after all we need gas to get to our destination to create a template that works for you
These weeks will give you the opportunity and time to practice the new skills you have learned in the program.

I love these questions!
The Confident Therapist: A Beginner's Guide to Session Notes is a15-week training program delivered primarily through audio with associated worksheets and handouts and actions tasks to support to master the material as well as practice, integrate and develop new skills. I'd recommend setting aside about 1 to 2 hours a week to go through the material and the respective action tasks.
You will have access to ALL the material as soon as you enroll into the course. However, because each module builds on the previous one, it is recommended that you work through each module and complete the corresponding action tasks before moving on to the next module. Trust me it will make sense to you. Along the way, I've also incorporated a couple of implementation weeks where you will have time to put into practice what you've learned and to catch up if you need that.
Also, don't forget that there are lots of amazing community elements you can take part in during the course too. While these are not mandatory to attend, it will definitely help you in this journey and allow what is being taught to really sink in.
